It was a beautiful Sunday to do some driving
up north. Started off with a run to Bennison's Bakery in Evanston
for their exquisite croissants. Followed by a nice leasurly drive
through Chicago's North Shore to view some of the McMansions
and awe at some of the cyclists out for one the last rides of
the year.
Upon reaching the town of Lake Forest, there was another
opportunity to try one of their best bakeries, Gerhard's, at
the Market Square. But alas, they were closed on Sunday's.
Drive up to the smily-face barn, that is the Elegant Farmer to join in their
Gleaning Day festivities. The last day that they allow the
public to pick apples or peruse through their pumpkin patch was
not only free to get in, but also free take what ever you can.
